5 star friendly experience We had three full tour days with Steven and they were all fantastic! We were also picked up from the airport and dropped back off at the end of the stay. Steven was the ultimate friendly professional. He greeted us each day with a friendly face. He was incredibly knowledgeable about all the best places to go in and around Edinburgh. We also went into northern England for the castle tours. We wouldn’t have seen half as much without Steven’s expertise. We felt so comfortable and taken care of. He gave us the ability each day to personalize our tour but also showed us all the key places. We’ll be using his service the next time we visit and recommending to all our friends.

Customized Private Day Tour - 5 out of 5 My wife and I spent October 8 with Stephen from Edinburgh Cab Tours, starting in central Edinburgh. The entire tour was customizable, and Stephen somehow managed to fit a castle, North Berwick Gin, the best £30 gin I’ve ever bought, and even Glenkinchie Distillery into one fantastic day.

Stephen was personable, professional, extremely knowledgeable about Scottish history and, above all, flexible. This became increasingly important as my weak American bladder demanded its own sightseeing itinerary. Every time I needed a stop, Stephen accommodated it without missing a beat.

His spontaneous recommendations and additional stops made an already great tour even better. No rigid itinerary, no being herded around with 40 strangers. Just a genuinely personalized tour with someone who knows Scotland and clearly enjoys sharing it.

Stephen even made sure my wife got to see the Highland cows, which may have been the highlight of her entire trip. Let’s just say Stephen’s attention to detail attributed to a glorious evening. Five stars for the tour, and possibly six from me.

Day trip to Northumberland This was the highlight of our recent trip to Scotland. Stephen was absolutely fabulous to work with. He helped with some of the planning and accommodated all of our wishes. We had such a good time hanging out with him and hearing his stories, tips and tricks for a great experience! The ride up the coast was beautiful and we toured Bambergh Castle, had lunch in Seahouses, took pictures of “Hogwarts” in Alnwick and explored Holy Island without getting swept away by the tide!

A wonderful way to see Scotland!! Stephen was an amazing tour guide!! One day we went to St. Andrews. Another day Highlands. We were able to take our time to see everything! Stephen was very accommodating of any needs we had along the way.. He was able to give us great recommendations for meals, also. The tours were packed full of beautiful sights and lesser known points of interest. Stephen was so knowledgeable about Scottish history and has a warm and funny personality!! Highlight of Our Trip to Europe and Scotland We booked a round trip from Edinburgh with Edinburgh Cab Tours and owner Stephen Maloney and it became the absolute highlight of our trip to Europe and Scotland.

Stephen was knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate . He shared Scotland's history from Roman days forward making the trip an unforgettable and rewarding experience.

Our mission was to see the countryside throughout the Scottish Borders south of Edinburgh, locate an ancient, now extinct medieval hamlet which was the ancestral home of my family clan in the13th and 14th centuries, locate burial grounds of ancestors inside Jedburgh Abbey and we accomplished all of that with Stephen's expert guidance. Stephen was invested in making our trip a memorable experience with much attention to detail.

Upon our return to Edinburgh, Stephen gave us a personalized overview tour of the old and new cities of Edinburgh-again describing as much Scottish history and culture as we could absorb and directing us to authentic Scottish keepsakes.

Distillery Galloway We went with Stephen to the Galloway Distillery; it was a fantastic tour with absolutely stunning views. Stephen is a fantastic guide and driver—I highly recommend him and his company.

Total Satisfaction We spent a day on a private tour with Stephen exploring our family history as far back as 1802. We could not have had a better guide who managed to escort us to each of the locations like the Blantyre Mine site which no longer exists, but he took us to the memorial gardens and found the location of where our relatives lived and worked in those days. Great Edinburgh private tour Stephen was great right from the on time start all the way through to our hotel droo off. He was knowledgeable, helpful, flexible and friendly and got us to the sights we could manage. A comfortable Mercedes van and he got us as close as possible to the various points of interest. Amazing Scotland I don’t usually write reviews, but Stephen deserves every word.

Our family spent three days touring Scotland with him, and it’s no exaggeration to say he made our trip extraordinary. From the moment he greeted us, he treated us not like clients, but like family — with genuine warmth, patience, and a level of care that is becoming rarer.

Stephen is one of those people who immediately puts you at ease. He’s kind, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable. What meant the most to me personally was how he cared for our daughter, Jaya. She’ll be studying abroad at the University of Stirling this fall, which is why we made Sterling one of our days, and he made her feel at home there. He even offered to be her emergency contact while she’s in Scotland! Humanity does exist! As a mother, that gesture meant more than I can express. It wasn’t something he had to do. It wasn’t part of any tour. It was simply who he is.

We’ve traveled extensively, and we’ve had wonderful guides, but Stephen is in a category of his own. Booking a tour with Stephen and Edinburgh Cab Tours was the best way to start our trip to Scotland! What started as an easy way to pass the time between our flight landing and check in, was a memorable and informative introduction to Edinburgh. Stephen shared stories and tips, while accommodating our needs for coffee, lunch, and bathroom breaks. We enjoyed passing through St. Andrews with plenty of time for photos and shops. Our tour through Edinburgh was incredible. We were able to see sites that were not necessarily walkable from where we were staying. Roslyn Chapel, Coos and Glencoe! I had a fantastic day trip with Stephen Maloney recently. My best friend and I wanted to do a little 'highlights' of the highlands with very limited time, and Stephen did not disappoint. First, we went ot see Roslyn Chapel, which is so stunningly beautiful. We then went and had some fun with hairy coos, feeding them carrots (a must-do with kids!!), and then we had a fantastic pub lunch and a drive out to Glencoe. Stephen is so warm and personable and makes the trip feel like you're just cruising around, having a laugh with your new Scottish best friend. I cannot recommend this company enough.
